Relationship Skills

Today, we have organizations with 70% or more disengaged employees.  We have organizations struggling to build real teamwork internally.  We have organizations whose leaders have the imperative to improve performance results.  We have businesses trying loyalty programs, discounts and sales with the goal of attracting and retaining customers.

There is a common denominator underscoring all of these priorities:  the universal drive to build positive, lasting relationships.

This critical skillset is a requirement in every aspect of life, across the spectrum of friends, families, coworkers, communities — throughout life.  Relationship skills are actually a collection of several capabilities.  It’s been written about and termed Emotional Intelligence for over 20 years.  But, for many people, the terminology itself causes us to turn away from the idea, to deem it unimportant.

Emotional Intelligence is what you do and how you do it, as you encounter people and in every interaction.  And it can be learned.  Unlike IQ, EQ can be learned and dramatically increased throughout our lives.  And, it’s something we can all do, each of us.  You can master it, and it has the power to transform your life, at work and outside work.

The purpose of this webpage is to provide resources to give you a snapshot, and some in-depth, actionable information that you can easily remember and do.  We’ll begin with some brief, introductory videos just to show you what Emotional Intelligence actually is, and what it can do.  Will continue to add new, insightful videos over time.  Let us know which ones you find most useful.  And, if you decide you’re interested in more information, go to our Emotional Intelligence Audiobook page…from YouTube.
